Q: How do I place an order?

A: Orders can be placed by calling (780) 405-6179 during business hours, using the convenient Online Order Form or by emailing us your Shopping List. Check out the Grocery Lists page for links to websites where you can download Grocery Shopping List templates in a variety of formats. Then simply tick off the items you need and either email it to order@shopndeliver (include your telephone number) or, upload it using the Online Order Form.Once your order is received, we’ll call to confirm the order and go over your list with you in detail to ensure you get exactly the products, brands, sizes, quantities and quality you want.

Q: Which methods of payment do you accept?

A: Shop’N Deliver accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Credit Cards along with Interac Email Transfers, Certified Cheque and cash.

Q: Some of the major supermarkets are starting to introduce their own “Shop & Collect” type programs locally; so how does Shop’N Deliver compete with these other services?

A: The short answer, is that there really is no competition. While there is an obvious similarity in that both offer a convenient shopping service to their respective customers, that’s just about where any additional comparisons end. For starters, Shop’N Deliver offers free delivery to your home or business. With the “Collect” type programs, while you may not have to do the actual shopping yourself, you still have to get in your vehicle and drive both to and from the store. Once you arrive to pick up your order, you may still have to wait in a queue before your order gets loaded into your vehicle. That’s still valuable time out of your busy day that Shop’N Deliver can help you save.
In addition, you are obviously restricted to only their selection of products and the employees doing your shopping are governed by in-store policies such as the FIFO (First In, First Out) Inventory Management Systems employed by most major grocery retailers. Shop’N Deliver has no allegiances or loyalties to any supplier in particular allowing us to focus on what’s in your best interests and not the supplier’s bottom line. Of course this also gives you as the consumer, the freedom of choice you rightly deserve. For only a few dollars more, Shop’N Deliver will shop at multiple stores for you to ensure that you not only get the exact products and brands you want, but that you get them at the best available price.

Q: What is meant by a 'concierge-style' service?

A: Concierge-style service is highly customized, personalized and adaptive to the specific needs of the client.

Q: How does the quality of the food that I order from Shop’N Deliver compare to what I can find at my local grocery store?

A: You will find the quality of the products the exact same as your local grocery store because that is where we get your groceries, from the local grocery store of your choice!

Q: Can I trust Shop’N Deliver to pick my meat, produce and other fresh foods?

A: Emphatically yes! Shop’N Deliver will shop for your meats, produce and other fresh foods just as if we were shopping for our own family, including checking the latest expiration dates and if requested, Nutrition Facts and allergen warnings. If we don't feel that it's good enough for us, why would it be good enough for you? We pride ourselves first and foremost on customer satisfaction and believe that if you are not a happy customer, then you won’t be a returning customer and repeat customers are the foundation of our business.

Q: Where do you shop?

A: The choice of store(s) to be shopped at is entirely up to you. One of Shop’N Deliver's distinct advantages is that we have access to a dozen different grocery retailers all within the boundaries of Sherwood Park with less than 10 km distance (about an 8 minute drive) between the two furthest apart. These include: 3 Save-On Foods, 2 Sobeys, 2 Safeways, 2 Walmarts, 1 Real Canadian Superstore, 1 Costco and 1 Organics Market. We can also shop at other stores for you including Home Depot, Rona, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Part Source, Staples, Chapters, Michael’s, Visions, Shopper’s Drug Mart, Rexall, London Drugs or any one of the four available Dollar Stores, In other words, there’s a lot for you to choose from and there is certainly no restriction to stores located in Sherwood Park. These are just examples.
We will gladly shop at whichever store(s) you prefer within our current areas of service.

Q: Do you also shop at ‘Warehouse' type stores such as Costco or Wholesale Club?

A: Yes. We do request however, that you please be familiar with the items that these stores carry. Normally these types of stores are for bulk purchases and they do not carry particular brands or sizes that you would usually be able to purchase at your neighbourhood supermarket.

Q: Can I use coupons on my grocery shopping and delivery order?

A: Shop’N Deliver does accept coupons to use for your purchase, however it will be necessary for us to pick up your coupons prior to shopping for your groceries and unless you have provided them during the delivery of a previous order, there is an additional $5.00 service charge for this pickup service. That said, most (if not all) coupons available in print media format are generally also made accessible online by the respective suppliers. Please check out Shop’N Deliver’s Resources page for links to flyers and apps that offer additional savings on groceries.Then all you have to do is inform Shop’N Deliver where you found it. In this day and age of technology, all we would typically have to do is download the coupon to our device and present it upon checkout for you to benefit from the additional savings.

Q: Why doesn't Shop’N Deliver provide a list of products available with pictures and prices?

A: The reason Shop’N Deliver does not list product categories, photos and prices, is because we shop at local grocery stores selected by our clients. Shop’N Deliver is not an online grocery store. With the vast number of supermarkets stocking thousands of different products, it would be next to impossible for us to list every product that every store in the region carries, along with their individual prices. Other available grocery delivery services that allow you to shop from their selection of items either warehouse their products or have an exclusive partnership with one particular store, which usually means higher prices. Shop’N Deliver believes that our clients deserve the freedom of choice to choose the actual products and brands that they want as well as the particular store that they come from. Q: How specific do I have to be on my grocery list?

A: Because we want you to be satisfied with your Shop’N Deliver experience, we request that you be as specific as possible with your grocery list. With thousands of individual grocery items available, product description, when necessary, is important. We want to be sure that we get it right for you every time!

Q: Will you substitute items that might not be available?

A: Yes, unless otherwise specified by you.Under ideal circumstances, Shop’N Deliver will consult with you directly either by telephone or text message at the time of shopping, to inform you of any products that may not be available and suggest possible alternatives or seek recommendations from you directly before proceeding with a selection.Should that option not be available and to ensure that your order is completed to your satisfaction, Shop’N Deliver will use the following guidelines when making substitutions:
1.) If you do not specify a particular brand when you order, Shop’N Deliver will carefully select one that is of good quality.

2.) If a specific size is not listed, the medium size will be selected.

3.) If the product is out of stock, we will first try to substitute with a different size of the identical product. The next size smaller is selected over the next size larger unless otherwise specified.

4.) If we cannot change size, we will substitute a different comparable brand of the same product.

5.) If it is not possible to substitute a size or name brand, the item will be deleted from the order, and you will be informed at the time of delivery. If you would prefer not to have any products substituted or, if you would prefer not to have certain products substituted, please indicate your preferred substitution policy when placing your order.(*Note: Shop’N Deliver cannot be held responsible for out of stock items).

Q: What are your grocery shopping and delivery service fees?

A: For our most current rates, click on ‘Pricing’ in the upper Navigational Menu. You may discover that our service fees differ from those of many of our competitors. There are several reasons for this:

1.) We are a concierge shopping service provider and do not profit from the sale of groceries.

2.) Unlike most other online grocery shopping services, we are able to take telephone orders.

3.) When we are shopping for your groceries, your order is getting the utmost and complete attention that it deserves because we do not shop for your order at the same time as someone else's grocery order.

4.) Shop’N Deliver provides grocery shopping and delivery from your favourite local grocery store so you get the brands and pay the prices that you are already accustomed to.

5.) We will shop from more than one grocery store for you if it means getting a better price or deal on a particular product.

Q: What are your shopping and delivery hours?

A: Shop’N Deliver’s hours of operation can be accessed by clicking on ‘About’ in the upper Navigational Menu.

Q: Does it take a long time to place an order?

A: No, unlike other grocery delivery services, where you have to search through pages of products to click on, we do not have "virtual aisles" for you to waste time in and shop through. Because we shop at the local grocery store of your choice, it would be nearly impossible for Shop’N Deliver to separate each store, the particular products that they carry and their individual prices. We figure you already know exactly what you need, where you want it from and roughly what it's going to cost. Using our online order form couldn't be any easier or you can simply call Shop’N Deliver directly and place your order over the phone!

Q: How far in advance do I need to order?

A: Shop’N Deliver generally offers next business day delivery and in many cases, same day delivery may be available for an additional fee (click on the Pricing link in the upper menu bar for current rates). Delivery times are always filled on a first come, first served basis, and popular times do fill quickly so we do ask that you place your order as early as possible to ensure your preferred delivery time. Please understand that due to the demand of our services, it's not always possible to guarantee a same day or next business day delivery but we will always do our best to accommodate you for the time of your request.

Q: Can I change or cancel my delivery time after I have placed my order?

A: Yes, but we ask that you call or send a text message us directly at least 3 hours before the scheduled delivery time to inform us of any cancellation. Sending an email may not be sufficient enough to stop your grocery order from being processed.

Q: Do I need to be home to receive my grocery delivery?

A: Unless other arrangements have been made, someone must be home to receive your order, pay for the groceries and our grocery shopping and delivery service. Unlike other services, Shop’N Deliver shops for your order on an individual basis, meaning that we do not shop for anyone else's order at the same time as yours. Your order comes directly from the store to your door without any unnecessary delays.

Q: What if I receive my grocery shopping and delivery order and realize that I ordered the wrong item or I receive an item I didn't order?

A: Our primary goal is 100% client satisfaction. Along with your grocery order, we give you the actual hard copy till receipt from the store(s) making returns or exchanges possible. If the mistake is ours, we will gladly correct it by returning or exchanging the product for you.

Q: Can Shop’N Deliver refuse my grocery shopping and delivery order?

A: Shop’N Deliver reserves the right to refuse service to anyone within the legal limits of the law.
